Total slacker here....

This has been the busiest week. We have a practicum for our homeschool community (Classical Conversations) this week that is from 9-4. I really don't know how working moms do it. Really. I am dying here. Getting the kids up and out the door by 7:45 and not getting home until 5 is too much for this momma. Then, we had a local soilder killed in Afghanistan last week and we joined most of our town to line the streets for his family (so they would know how appreciative we are and also so they wouldn't see the nasty protestors) on Monday as soon as we got home. Tuesday, our church had some youth out standing holding supportive signs on the same piece of property the protesters had stood on the night before...and I took the kids out for that too. Tonight, I am too pooped to poop. P just came in, wearing goggles, asking if she could take a bath....and it cracked me up. I think I am past the point of return and need a good nights sleep to get me back on track. Too bad I am behind on work and will have to stay up getting it done as soon as Big Daddy gets home.

(I am on the laptop and just took this with the webcam on here...but can't add a watermark and am too tired to go to the desktop to use photoshop...sorry)

Fun Friday Foto - Summer

Well, the weather got nicer and the ABC game was put on the back burner for a bit. We'll get back to it sometime. We spent last weekend camping in our new (to us) motorhome and I missed the Fun Friday Foto last week so I didn't want to miss this week too. Some friends went with us this morning to pick blueberries and visit a cool park that the kids love to go to when we are in that town. Summer is all about the kids. Playing, swimming, sweating, oh my. They were so sweaty today but had a blast, which is what really matters, right? In the second picture, they were trying to spell out "PLAY"...can you tell? A little? Humor me ;)

Enjoy your SUMMER!

Kids - C, D

Kids - A, B

It was raining and dreary yesterday and we were bored, so we decided to play a game. I set the timer for 5 minutes and had the kids find everything they could that started with "A". Then took a pic. Put it all away (their least fave part). Reset the timer for "B". They loved it. I plan to do a few each day during the summer and see if we can finish the alphabet.

From the garden

We (really Big Daddy, but it sounds better to say "we") were pulling weeds from the garden that we have been neglecting and found a few ripe fruits. All laid out, it reminded me of a children's book :)

Tricky T

Tricky T was sick this week and we had a long wait at the Dr to be seen yesterday. He busied himself with drawing an entire story on exam table paper. At a seminar I went to a couple of months ago, Andrew Pudewa said that typically, girls draw nouns and boys draw verbs. This is so true for Tricky T...there is always action in his pictures! [I am thankful that I figured out how to get pics off my phone ;)]

Today, T found a new pet...a snail. It was actually very interesting to watch him move across the picnic table.

And just to pull at your heart strings, here is one more. He is actually feeling a lot better than this looks...but he is still tired and not 100%. We are taking it easy this weekend and he will be back to his old self soon.

Fun Friday Foto - Shooting the Details

So many details I could have captured but my mind went to the kids. They are growing up so fast. I measured them today and they had each grown an inch since December! I wanted to see how our hands measured up so laid them all out together on the picnic table. Then I went looking for a verse that would relate so I could get some "notes" back into this blog ;) We spend a lot of time training our physical selves but need to not forget that our main goal is training our spiritual selves. I wish T had been home...I might have to redo this tonight with his hand in there too so we have the whole family!

Fun Friday Foto - Different point of view

Check it out...I'm posting my Friday photo ON Friday! Today's challenge was to shoot from a different point of view. There are lots of ways you could do this but I chose to take a picture from my kids' point of view. The first picture is me snapping a pic of them swinging. The next is me swinging and taking a picture of Tricky T standing where I stood to take the pictures of them.

Oh, I also started another blog yesterday. I know, I know...but I just had too much free time and needed to fill it with something fun ;) This one is not photography related though. If you want to check it out, you can click here. Let me know what you think!

Fun Friday Foto: Catch Up Post...again

Ok...so I obviously didn't get to ANY of my Fun Friday Fotos in May :( But I don't want to be a quitter so I knocked them all out today ;) The first was a Mother's Day one but I am counting the other Mother's Day pics as that and not going to try to recreate anything - haha. So that brings us to...

May 14th - Food
I found these Snapea Crisps at Whole Foods and love them! I tried to convince the kids that they are just green Cheetos...but only P will eat them. Oh well, worth a shot. I just eat them like chips and not on a salad. Yum.

May 24 - Bokeh
I love taking Bokeh pics. It's one of my favorite things to do. This one I was laying on the couch and took a picture of C holding a glass cross above me and blocking the ceiling fan. Turned out kinda cool :)

And May 28 - Abstract
It is harder for me to think abstractly. I am more of a concrete girl (love me a Freckles frozen Concrete too!). I think this will work. I had to play in Photoshop to make it look like I wanted but this is P's bear's belly...she didn't recognize the pic so maybe I made it TOO abstract ;)

Tomorrow starts June's Fun Friday Fotos and I hope to stay on time with those! I might even get a note in there...or maybe not ;)

Of course not...

Princess P has her own style. She is dressed and ready to go out in the 90* weather like this and insists that:

I'm still alive...

I have totally neglected this blog the past few weeks and have lots of great excuses:

1 -We went on vacation for a week....had a blast with my parents, sisters, brother-in-laws, nieces, and nephews. Great, relaxing week but no blogging involved.

2 - We finished up the school year leaving me with a future Kindergartener, 2nd grader, and 5th grader, oh my! We are still going to be doing some schooling this summer but slowing it way down. We did start Latin  a couple of weeks ago and love hearing the kids actually using some of it. Yesterday, Princess P started in singing, "We cry sanctus, sanctus, sanctus" (sanctus=holy). Or having Tricky T start a prayer with "Oremus" (meaning "Let us pray"). We also ordered a new fun science book to do this summer full of experiments and of course, keeping up practicing math and reading so they don't have to "catch up" when we start again in the fall.

3 - Business is crazy busy still. Such a huge blessing...but it does cut into my blogging time ;o)

4 - We bought a motorhome. Oh yes, neighbors, that thing is staying! It ain't pretty...but it's all ours. We are SO excited to take our first little adventure in it in a few weeks. We have been looking for...well, years!...and finally found one cheap enough to not be too much of a risk. We are looking forward to making great memories with the kids. However, again, cleaning the old girl up is cutting into my blogging time too!

5 - the bottom line is

Don't give up on me...I'll be back!
