We came home today from a day of CC to a cold house. Finally! I have been dying to start a fire but trying to be patient since Big Daddy has been working so hard this summer to stock up enough firewood for the winter. Last year it was so cold for so long that we ran out and had to go cut in the snow! I don't want that to happen again...but had to make our first fire. I love, love, love fires and am so thankful that we had this fireplace insert put in last year. It makes starting the fire so easy and makes watching it so much safer since the doors stay closed.

I love a good fire too...but the fireplace doesn't heat our whole house, and if we have a fire the thermostat doesn't kick on...so the bedrooms are frigid! But it's worth is for the crackle of a wood fire.

You don't even have to share you photos with the Daily Shoot group if you don't want to - you can just use it as inspiration. I like to share mine via Twitter and the Flickr group because other people come to my flickr stream and then I find theirs...photo networking at its finest!
Oh, and I meant to tell you - I love the fact that the dog is looking at the camera. It completes the photo.
